Composition: Nepafenac 0.1%
Packaging: 5 ml
The benefits of Nepanac Eye Drops at a glance:
Nepafenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that has anti-inflammatory activity. Nepafenac penetrates the cornea and is converted by ocular tissue hydrolases to amfenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Amfenac then inhibit the action of prostaglandin H synthase (cyclooxygenase), an enzyme required for prostaglandin production
Therapeutic uses:
NEPANAC Eye Drops is indicated for the treatment of:
Postoperative inflammation and reduction of ocular pain in patients who have undergone cataract extraction
Reduction in the risk of postoperative macular edema associated with cataract surgery in diabetic patients
Topical Nepafenac has been shown to be a more effective inhibitor of meiosis during small incision cataract surgery and provides a more stable Mydriatic effect compared to topical flurbiprofen
Nepafenac is more effective than fluorometholone in preventing cystoid macular edema and blood aqueous barrier disruption, and results indicate Nepafenac leads to more rapid visual recovery
Nepafenac eye drops do not increase the IOP. They can possibly be used as an alternative to steroid medications where steroid responsiveness is a concern
Nepafenac ophthalmic suspension 0.1% was safe and effective for preventing and treating ocular inflammation and pain associated with cataract surgery
Also available in Clear Solution as Nepanac-CS Eye Drops in 5 ml pack
